Renjie Butalid is an award-winning entrepreneur whose work lies at the intersection of technology startups, social innovation, and cross-sector civic engagement. Renjie is Associate Director of the Dobson Centre for Entrepreneurship at McGill University. Renjie is also Co-founder of the Montreal AI Ethics Institute (MAIEI), helping to define humanity’s place in a world increasingly characterized and driven by algorithms. MAIEI, whose AI Ethics community now includes over 1,400 members, does this by creating tangible and applied technical and policy research in the ethical, safe and inclusive development of AI.
